PHILOSOPHY AND MISSION
There’s an unwritten society among goalkeepers known as “The Goalkeeper Union.” It’s as unique as the position itself. It unofficially says fellow keepers will always have one another’s back; a pact bred from understanding that only other keepers truly get what it takes—physically and mentally—to play the position. Goalkeeper FC (GKFC) was born from this concept with the desire to expand it by providing specific, dynamic and innovative training for goalkeepers in an environment that fosters growth, development, camaraderie, healthy competition and an appreciation for just how unique, impressive, and, yes, crazy—crazy awesome!—it is to be a goalkeeper. This means more than just teaching how to stop shots and claim crosses. It means combining those traditional elements with keeper-specific strength and conditioning—becoming stronger, and quicker to deal with the demands of the position—while becoming positive leaders.
The goal of GKFC is to not just have kids become better keepers, but to learn and grow and develop as people. To enjoy victories with class and defeat with a grace; to stand strong in the face of pressure, resolute in adversity and resilient in missteps. That’s why we’re called Goalkeeper FC. Because like any truly great team, we’re a united club—a cohesive unit of likeminded individuals bought into a philosophy and method, working together to achieve greatness. We just all happen to be goalkeepers. There’s no other position like it and it is the hope of GKFC that the values tied into being a keeper—hard work, discipline, selflessness, and a willingness to do what most others will not—will stick with them for the rest of their lives. At GKFC, our aim is for you to deny goals on the pitch, while helping you achieve yours both on and off of it.
